WORLD ART DAY 2023 (Blog Article)

GET ready to unleash your creative side because Pine Hills School is gearing up for World Art Day on Friday, April 14, 2023!

This international event is celebrated annually on April 15th, in honor of the birthday of the legendary artist, Leonardo da Vinci. The aim of the event is to promote the significance of art in society and encourage people to appreciate and participate in various art forms.

This year, Pine Hills School's World Art Day activities will be divided into two sessions -- for primary and secondary students. The primary session kicks-off at 8:50am and lasting around 40 minutes, while the secondary session will run from 8:40am until 9:20am.

The event promises to be an exhilarating and engaging experience for the students with five different stations that offer exciting art activities.

At the first station, students will be challenged to replicate a picture using their non-dominant hand or while blindfolded. At the second station, they will mix science and art to create a volcano or a colorful door using specific materials. The third station will focus on Chinese calligraphy, and the fourth will be a doodling station. The final station will involve the Japanese art of origami, where students can explore paper-folding skills.

Moreover, there will be an art exhibition showcasing the work of the students with a mini-contest to showcase their canvas work.

The winners will be announced towards the end of the event, with no judges but just a main winner for both primary and secondary students.

Teacher Rashman notes, "This year's theme for the exhibition is to remind us to appreciate our country because all the teams are related to Malaysia. We are focusing on how art can be done in different ways."

The event will conclude with music and announcements, creating a celebratory atmosphere.

Although there are no big prizes to be won, the students will have a chance to showcase their hard work.

Overall, Pine Hills School's initiative to promote the arts, and celebrate World Art Day is commendable.

The event promises to be a great opportunity for students to unleash their creativity, learn new art skills and techniques, and appreciate the importance of art in their lives.
